Savoring Spring

The first scrapes and boo-boo's of spring - a rite of passage on her childhood path. Of which I am sure we will have many, many more. Her sweetness that reminds me to slow down - to look a bit closer and to savor each moment a bit more. And, strangely, how some days, the little things she does, her actions and her mannerisms, is like watching my sister all over again.
The pleasure she gets from such simple things - To see the sweetness, the innocence and the joy of the unexpected - all mirrored in bubbles that come and go in the blink of an eye.
And, that brief moment, when she finally climbs into my lap and sits still. I think to myself, she is all mine. Mine, mine, mine!

Beautiful pic to go with beautiful words. We could all use the lesson to slow down and remember what's msot important.

You should see Nate's legs! He has scrapes and bruises on both of them from playing outside! That was such a sweet photo story. I love squeezing my kiddos and thinking the same thing!

Children have their own agenda, their own timetable, and it's inherently something that we sort of lose. Kudos to you for staving that off.

And yeah, she reminds me scarily of what I can remember from when I was that little.

She is beautiful. Enjoy her while she can still fit on your lap!

What a great post and such a beautiful little girl! I had to smile at your last sentence - there are many times where I find myself looking at my little ones and think the same thing.

What a sweet post and beautiful pictures! Your daughter is so cute. I LOVE her long, pretty hair!
And do you pronounce her name "Ma-deh-lynn" or "Mad-eh-line"? My second daughter's name is Madelyn (Pronounced like Madeline Albright) but I've had many people pronounce her name like the little storybook character "Madeline".

Great post!

Oh, sweet spring.

And, I love how you captured her in all of the spring-y-ness without her seeming to have noticed.
